Jan 01, 2013OUTCOME: Collected 2.7 Million dollars in assets for our client by having her former spouse incarcerated until he paid in full
Due to our efforts, the court awarded our client $2.7 million in assets, counsel fees and appellate counsel fees. The husband appealed and the court upheld the award that we secured for our client. Fo ... llowing the appeal, the husband failed to comply with the court's order. We collected a good portion of the monies owed by seizing the husband's liquid and semi-liquid assets. Later, we brought a contempt proceeding against the husband for failing to pay the balance of the sums and for failing to transfer ownership of certain properties. The lower court held the husband in contempt, took him immediately into custody, and directed that he be incarcerated for six months or until he paid what he owed and transferred the properties. Following the husband's brief incarceration, our client received everything she was due.
