Time to retire. Avoid this "law" office. Absolutely the most unprofessional staff from "Receptionist" to "Paralegal" to "Office Manager". After hiring and setting up a personal appointment (as I hired and paid over the telephone), I drove the 275 miles to meet him, and Attorney was not in town. O...ffice staff was unapologetic and annoyed when I arrived to the office. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. Note: I did receive a full refund of the retainer.

I hired Mr. Knochel for my divorce, I have noticed that most of the reviews are 10 years old, so it is time for a current one. My divorce took over a year to complete and there were no children involved. I paid the $5000 retainer; I had used that up and racket up on another $5000 before I ever saw an...d invoice. Most of the document gathering, financial investigation and even the final out of court negotiations where either done by me or spearheaded by me to get completed. During the course of the divorce, I was required to leave numerous phone calls or emails that went unanswered and not returned. On a couple of occasions when talking directly to Mr. Knochel he would continually ask the same questions and would constantly mix up the facts. He would repeatedly ask others for their opinion on the legality of things. The last item is receiving an invoice (only the third for a year process) after my divorce was final and after Mr. Knochel requested and was granted to be removed as my attorney. Mr. Knochel never informed me of his request and approval of being removed, there were still items unfinished from the divorce such as personal property being held by the other party. Another individual in the law firm sent emails to opposing counsel to try and get my items after Mr. Knochel was no longer representing me. In the end I had to go through other means to retrieve my property. That 3rd and final invoice arrived, and I was billed for the items that the other attorney did with me without signing or agreeing to another contract, although legal both removing himself as my attorney without notification or continuing to bill me after the fact without a new agreement is unethical. I have no idea how Mr. Knochel is concerning other legal cases, but I would highly recommend that you do not utilize him for a divorce.

I hired this law-firm on an emergency situation due to filling in bullhead.I paid the retainer of 3500. He represented me once in court then charged me almost another 1000$ for filling of paperwork afterward of hearing. They cheat you on the billing process.They charge you as if you talk to the actua...l lawyer every-time,when you really dont.I brought up the fact that they were conducting business wrong and over charging me,they continued to say I owe them money. I would not pay until they corrected my bill,and they never did.They drop my case and never gave me a penny back. I would not hire these people at all, they will cheat you out of your money and never think twice about it.

Very disappointed with my experience at Knochel law firm. I hired the firm for my family law case. They dropped the ball from the beginning. From leaving out some of my children on an emergency protection order less than a week after I hired them to the very end when we discussed what was to be writt...en on the stipulation order. After agreeing what was to be written, Knochel law cancelled the trial date, then let the opposing council write the stipulation order which was completely wrong and not what we agreed upon. But it was too late because he cancelled the trial date and I'm a single parent that spent everything I had for his services and couldn't hire someone else. He requested so much information and evidence which I provided, then he didn't want to use after all. It was just a tactic to incur more fee's. He will do everything and anything to not work for your money and stay out of court. I was very disappointed with his lack of ethics and morals. After I disputed what was written in my final stipulation order, Mr. Knochel said his partner Aline happened to be in the office listening to our conversation regarding the order and would testify to it. Very dishonest guy. If I can help one person avoid him then the time I took to write this is worth it. I wish someone would have written a review like this before I retained him. It would have saved my children and I a world of uncertainty and hurt.
