Four days after graduating high school way back in 1976, I was sitting in a chair downtown Chicago getting a buzzcut and being shipped off to basic training for a 4 year stint in the US. Army. Working as an aircraft mechanic at Echterdingen Army Airfield in Stuittgart Germany for 3.5 years was an enlightening and educational epxirence that gave me a greater respect to America and its role in the world. It was then that I decided that practicing law was in my future for to practice law was to gain knowledge of worldly events, learn to appreciate the personal interactions of everyday life and to understand how societal structure applied on a global scale. Law though often seen as evil is nevertheless a necessary evil.
So there I went, firsrt to Northern Illinois University to study computer science when it was in its infancy. After graduation in 1983, I worked with IBM in Rochester, Minnesota for a year and half before the "law bug" bit hard and I moved 100 miles north to attend the University of Minneosta Law School, one of the top schools in the nation.
After having lived my entire life in Northern climates, after law school I jumped at the chance to "go West young man" and ended up in a a large law firm in San Diego, California practicing in corporate, partnership and securities law. Slowly, I came to realize that you only get one chance at life so I began to downsize and moved from San Diego to Tucson, Arizona and finally to Prescott, Arizona, where I have lived and practiced law since 1998.
Prescott has allowed me to build a substantial legal practice. I have participated in many organization such as the American Red Cross, the Adult Center of Prescott, the American Legion and the Fraternal Order of Eagles. I was fortunate to be asked to teach the business law and contract course at Yavapai Community College for 5 years and today I see many of my students working in local law firms.
My practice focuses on business and real estate with a secondary emphasis on estate planning. If your needs fall within those areas, give me a call. I am fair, reasonable and honest in my fees and my legal opinions. I've practiced law a long time and learned that honesty gets you the furthest and honesty is what you will get from me.
