As a former Chapter 7 Trustee, I am keenly aware of all aspects of Chapter 7 law. Not only do we consider all ethical aspects of pre-petition planning, we prepare our clients for dealing with their own Chapter 7 trustee with insights into their motivations, procedures and even nuances of their individual office structures. We use the Means Test to find income reductions and the proper time period to make clients eligible for Chapter 7 even with higher income. We stop garnishments.

Chapter 13 allows some older taxes to be discharged and others paid with no interest. We stop foreclosures and restructure other secured debt where possible. Our clients can utilize Chapter 13 to protect and keep non-exempt assets, like excess tools or family collections, without overpaying on credit card debt and medical bills.

Our smaller Northern Arizona office does not have the resources for large corporate reorganizations, but we help individuals and small business entities with more debt than is allowed in a Chapter 13 or with special tax or foreclosure issues. We usually suggest larger Phoenix firms, but sometimes our firm is the only safe refuge for special small Chapter 11 cases.

Our initial consultation comes with no payment. When potential clients are confronted with the chaos and fear that come with debt and financial insecurity we explain their legal options-- both inside and outside bankruptcy. We do not defend collection actions in state court nor do we negotiate debt outside bankruptcy, but we explain options to people facing lawsuits, garnishments, tax liens and other harsh collection actions.
