attorney Susan Light Really Helped Me!

I hired attorney Susan Light to help me on a civil case. Ms Light did a great job and won my case! Ms. Light took the time to understand what my problem was and to prepare my case for trial. Ms. Light was diligent, punctual, and a very effective communicator. I highly recommend her services to others...!

Excellent Representation!

Susan and her team were professional, patient and compassionate. She explained the Parenting Plan process and told me what to expect every step of the way. She provided excellent counsel every step of the way. My case turned out exactly as I had hoped with the welfare of my child coming first.

Susan and her team are the best!!

This is the second time I have hired Susan and she shined as always. I had a pretty complex case, since my child lived out of state, but Susan was always confident we would win. My case involved multiple hearings. At each hearing Susan was magnificent and her skills really shined through in the co...urt room. Also, every time I needed to speak about my case or needed information, Susan or Kristine (her awesome paralegal) were always there to help. After she won my case the other party appealed. Susan absolutely nailed the appeal response and we have now won the appeal as well. Susan's vast legal knowledge, especially about the UCCJEA, is second to none. Finally, one of the things that impressed me the most was Susan and her team were personable and always made me feel more than just a client. With Susan you get what you pay for -a very talented, experienced and knowledgeable attorney!!!!

Impeccable Execution for Intricate Custody Case!

We had a very complicated custody case that needed a lot of attention and immediate action. Susan took us on during one of her busiest weeks this year, knowing that we needed something filed in a matter of days in order to protect our child. Her superior work ethic, extensive knowledge of family law,... military statutes, and multiple state precedents were paramount in the success of our case. She made herself available to us via text and was prompt in returning all correspondence. She meticulously reviewed our files before each and every hearing and was always prepared for any possibility. Her staff was professional and courteous and when emergencies came up there was always someone working intensely on our case. We never felt ignored and were even given a discount for the times work had to be redone do to the urgent nature of our conflict. We encountered several roadblocks along the way, to include a military deployment, and nothing hindered Susan’s momentum. We could not be more impressed with, and grateful for Susan and her staff. We will not be considering anyone else in the event that we need any further legal assistance.

Susan Light will take all you money and give you nothing in return

Over the phone Susan quoted my retainer fee to be between $4,000-$6,000. When in fact she charged me $7,500! I was hospitalized due to injuries caused by my husband in a Domestic Vilolace case and before I ever even met with Susan her assistant called me while hospitalized and told me I needed to ...sign the fee agreement and provide $7,500. For retaking her. As my divorce attorney. Her assistant stated. "TMC Hospital was just a few minutes away and was rught on her way home . ( I was charged $260. 00 for that $200. For her assistant coming to the hospital and $60 for texting me to see which room I was in. When her assistant came into my hospital room I was getting a blood transfusion as well as on IV Morophine. My brother told her he didn't think I should be signing any legal documents at the time due to my medical condition and the fact that I was on Morohine! She handed me the papers and showed me where to sign, which I did. The day I left TMC SUan called and I informed her I was not feeling well and was resting, but she proceeded to question me about everything I owned, vehicles, furniture as well as all my financial information. This call lasted two hours and happened, once again, before I had ever met Susan in person. At the end of the call she set up an appointment for me at her office the following Tuesday, just two days after my release from the hospital for internal bleeding. I drive to her office which is over 20 miles from my home to find it was closed. I called and text her a few times to find out why she wasn't there and an hour later she showed up. She explained that her assistant had taken the day off and took me into a room that was cram packed with boxes and files. Her office was in shambles the phone rang everytime I tried to explain my history, so we were constantly interrupted by her answering the phone and signing for packages being delivered. She quickly typed up some documents for my case, which instead of putting a hold on my husband's pension, by filling out a document incorrectly ,ended up freezing all my money!! approximately one week later, I phoned Susan and told her I had absolutely NO money to live off of....to buy food for myself and my animals. I asked her if I could get part of the Retainer Fee back to live on until the problem she had caused could be fixed and I could get to some of my own money to live off of. She said no, that she was unable to that and that I should try to locate a "food bank!" And ended the call by telling me she was "out to lunch with a friend." What a kick in the face! After thinking about the way she treated me I called later that same day and told her I no longer needed her service and would like my retainer money back. She informed me there was no way to get that done that day, she could not possibly get the money or a courier to bring it to me! I called a courier myself and text her askied her what time the courier could come and pick up my files and money owed to me. She text back stating he would have to be at her office by 5:00 PM. He arrived there at 5:00 PM AND SHE TOLD HIM IT WIULD BE AT LEAST ANITHER HOUR! He later told me Susan and her assistant were frantically trying to get things copied and put together. he then got another call and told her to call him when she was ready for him. She called him approximately an hour later around 7:00 PM. He then met me at I-10 and Houghto around 8:00 PM with a paper for me to sign and two white notebooks which contained a jumbled up mess of papers and 5 money orders, each for the amount of $500.00, from Fry's grocery store, a total refund if $2,500.. She had kept $5,000 of my retainer fee!! I
