If a loan has collateral can the asset still be taken if it is not in my name and are not my things?

The lender gets paid or gets the collateral. If the collateral is sold for more than the amount then the remainder goes back to the borrower.

If the debt was incurred pre bankruptcy petition then you will prevail in the contest to reopen and list the creditor on schedule F.
