Best DUI Lawyers in Tucson

If you are reading this, there is a good chance you have been charged with a DUI and are looking for a lawyer. These client reviews are how I found St. Louis Huffman so I thought I would share my experience. St. Louis Huffman is the best DUI firm you will find. My attorney, Ryan Huffman, was fantasti...c. As I perused through all the client reviews I noticed a common theme that sets St. Louis Huffman apart from other firms—accepting a plea bargain is generally not how this law firm operates. I was pleasantly surprised to see that from day-one they treated my case as if I could expect to go to trial. They intended to make the state prove their case and would leave no stone unturned in the process. In fact, their fee structure included going to trial. I had always been under the impression that there would be a “trial penalty” for going to trial and losing. I thought this was how the state normally coerced defendants to settle. If they went to trial and lost, the system would punish them with a harsher sentence ostensibly for taking the court’s time. I did some research on this and couldn’t find anything about Arizona adopting a trial penalty concept. My research was consistent with what Ryan told me about having nothing to lose by rejecting their plea offer. This is good news when you have a lawyer who approaches the case intending to go to trial. Most other lawyers would have probably recommended taking the offer. If you are content to just accept a plea deal and all the adverse consequences that come with it, you can probably find a law firm that will take your case for less. But if you want to hire an attorney who is not afraid to go to trial, look no further than St. Louis Huffman. I think their flat fee was fair and reasonable considering they are the best DUI lawyers in Tucson. In preparation for my initial consultation with Ryan, I typed out a narrative of every detail I could remember about the traffic stop. It took several hours to write but it reduced the likelihood that I might leave something out. Inside of two minutes he had a good understanding of what happened and asked additional questions from there. I was impressed enough with his assessment and confidence that I made the decision to retain him on the spot. He told me that there would be a fairly long period of radio silence while we waited for the state to produce their evidence and go through the preliminary and investigative process. I left the office feeling that I had made the right decision. I followed the case progress on the court’s website. Months went by and every time there was a hearing another was scheduled for about six weeks down the road. Since I didn’t have to attend any of these hearings Ryan always emailed me the court’s minute entry afterwards. Finally I received a call from Ryan that after a meeting with the prosecutor where a deficiency in the state’s case was raised the prosecutor decided to dismiss the case. Prior to my being charged with a DUI, the extent of my exposure to law enforcement consisted of a few speeding tickets. Being on the side of the road performing circus tricks for the police was not something I ever contemplated. I was incensed that the police report was so one-sided and false. Later, I discovered that this is not only normal but the police training manuals actually encourage them to do this to bolster the state’s case. After this DUI experience I have a very different view of law enforcement. Perhaps this is an unintended consequence, nevertheless they have themselves to blame as active participants. When I saw how biased the police report was I realized how important it was to have the best lawyers in my corner. I am so glad I found this firm. I would recommend St. Louis Huffman without hesitation. Everything they did was professional and first-class. Their support team was fantastic too. It was so reassuring to know that they were on the case and fighting for me.

The best at what he does

You always hope you'll never need an attorney, but when your life hits rock bottom and just keeps piling on, you need someone who is truly in your corner. I won't go into the details of my case, but suffice to say I was climbing up from the lowest point in my life after having been arrested and almo...st losing my job, managing to salvage said job and slowly coming back from the brink, only to be knocked down again when COVID restrictions lifted and my pandemic-delayed case was making its way through the system when I found out I would be facing (additional) jail time as a portion of the punishment the city attorney was seeking. Panicking, I did a bit of research online and eventually settled on calling Nesci and St. Louis and eventually met with Mr. Huffman. The day of my consultation, number one, he LISTENED to me...REALLY listened. He was confident he could help me, and while he made no guarantees, he assured me he would do his very best to get the most favorable result possible. Though this was just the first step, I left his office feeling more confident than I had in quite a while, and I knew that this was the "right" attorney to handle my case. Throughout the negotiation process with the city attorney assigned to my case, Mr. Huffman and his paralegal kept me informed every step of the way, answering every one of my questions patiently and completely. Fast forward several more months, when I received a phone call outlining my plea offer to include no additional jail time, tears of joy were the only thanks I could offer, and a "thank you" wasn't, and never will be, nearly enough. Criminal charges are never fun, and an unknown outcome can drive one's stress level up sky high, but Mr. Huffman and his staff are completely dedicated to their clients and will fight tooth and nail to get you the very best results possible. Five stars isn't nearly enough.
