Worst Lawyer Experience Ever

I was fired from my job of 24 years in May of 2013. I believe I was discriminated against and as a result sought the help of an attorney. Mr Brian W Raum reached out to me and offered to help me based on the facts provided. He told me that I had to pay him $2400 and I told him that I didnt have a jo...b and therefore didnt have that kind of money, Mr Raum told me that I could make two payments of $1200 through paypal to make it easier and I managed to do that. Mr Ruam then informed me that he would file a complaint with the EEOC which he did. Once the results of the EEOC's investigation were completed Mr Ruam then informed me that he was filing a lawsuit against my former employer. In the meantime to help my case, I was providing photographic evidence to Mr. Ruam on a weekly basis to prove that I was wrongfully terminated and Mr Raum encouraged me to keep providing the information as it would only strenghen our case. As the months went by I would check with Mr Raum to find out the status of my case and I was always told everything was fine. By the end of last year, Mr Raum informed me that after the New Year he would seek to negotiate with my former employers lawyers to try go come to some kind of settlement. As the New Year arrived I began to try to reach out to Mr. Raum and I found that I could not contact him. Finally in March 2014 Mr Raum sent me an E mail saying that due to serious financial and personal problems he could not continue with my case and that he had to close his buisness. He suggested that I find someone else to help me. He also stated that he would review my case and issue a refund when he had extra time. I was shocked to say the least but I tried to be understanding just incase the guy was on his deathbead or somthing like that. I resopnded to his email asking what happend that was so serious that he had to close his buisness. I also asked him how he could do such a thing to me and I also asked to have my file containing what was done so that I could attempt to try to find another lawyer. He responded in another email and said that he would find a replacemet attorney for me. I waited paitently and did not hear anything from Mr Raum. I called his cellphone on August 4th 2014 and got no answer but I was able to leave a message. I drove to into NYC to his office on August 5th and found that the building was vacant. I sent Mr Raum another email on August 5th and later that night I got a response from him. He told me that he was in Arizona trying to put his life back together and that he could not find another attorney to help me. As of this date August 7th 2014 I have never recieved any of the documentation relating to my case and Mr Raum never gave me any of my money back either. I tried to be as reasonable and understanding as possible but to me Mr Raum took my money left town and never did anything to help me I dont even know what to say or do at this point. This is the worst experience I have ever had with an attorney
