During college, while working as a community service officer at a police department in rural Illinois, Lucas witnessed the importance of recognizing the humanity in all individuals—regardless of their circumstances. This pivotal experience sparked his determination to attend law school and become a criminal defense attorney dedicated to ensuring fair treatment and representation for all.

Lucas earned his Juris Doctor from the Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law at Arizona State University, where his exceptional commitment to criminal defense was recognized with numerous distinctions.

Lucas was awarded the Gideon Fellowship (2017-2018), an honor given to just one second-year student annually who exemplifies the qualities essential for indigent defense representation. He was also designated as a Trial Advocacy Fellow (2018), a prestigious distinction given to select students who complete rigorous curriculum designed to enhance courtroom litigation skills. Upon graduation, Lucas received the Highest Pro Bono Distinction for his commitment to public service. His undergraduate education includes a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from Southern Illinois University of Edwardsville.

Since his admission to the State Bar of Arizona in 2018, Lucas has dedicated his career to criminal defense. Lucas began his career at the Maricopa County Public Defender’s Office, where he handled serious felony cases while advocating for indigent and marginalized communities. He later transitioned to private practice, expanding his expertise to a wide range of misdemeanor cases throughout Arizona’s court system. At Rosenstein Law Group, Lucas continues to provide zealous defense representation with a focus on protecting clients’ rights and securing favorable outcomes.

Beyond the courtroom, Lucas maintains an active lifestyle that reflects his energetic approach to law. Lucas enjoys running with his dog, hiking Arizona’s scenic peaks, participating in book clubs, supporting the Phoenix Suns, and playing pickleball.
