**Karin is NOT currently practicing law. She has joined NExT1031 and resumed her work in the IRC Section 1031 (aka Like-Kind Exchange) industry.
Karin A. Church, Esq. began her career in Lawrence, Kansas. With a strong interest in serving local businesses, her early work focused on commercial law and estate planning.
A family move brought Karin to Phoenix, Arizona, where she found herself drawn to real estate, and specifically real estate development. She took a position as a Project Facilitator for Evergreen Devco, Inc. (“Evergreen”), a regional commercial developer. Her work at Evergreen involved real estate acquisitions, dispositions, investor relations, rezoning, property management, insurance, construction, and like-kind (IRC Section 1031) exchanges.
It was the coordination of Evergreen’s like-kind exchanges that introduced Karin to Internal Revenue Code Section 1031, the qualified intermediary industry, and specifically Investment Property Exchange Services, Inc. (“IPX1031”). IPX1031 was looking for an attorney to process a complex type of exchange that required the accommodator to take legal title to property. Karin’s legal and real estate background was the perfect fit for their needs, and Karin left development to join IPX1031 and establish a national processing office for reverse and improvement exchanges.
While at IPX1031, Karin’s clientele spanned the range of multi-billion dollar real estate investment trusts to single-property investors. She has worked with Fortune 500 corporations, “mom and pop” businesses and all clients in-between. Her knowledgeable, yet down-to-earth style allows her to explain even the most complicated of transactions in a way that makes her a respected part of her clients’ team.
Karin is the President of NExT1031 a like-kind exchange accommodation company. Additional information on NExT1031 can be found at .
Karin holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science with support in Public Relations from Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska, and a Juris Doctorate from the University of Kansas School of Law. She is licensed to practice law in both Kansas (inactive status) and Arizona.
Karin is on the Board of Directors of the Kiwanis Club of Desert Ridge, where she enjoys working with their sponsored Key Clubs at three local high schools.
Having been raised in the mountains of northern New Mexico, Karin loves the outdoors and enjoys hiking and skiing. Karin is an avid hockey and music fan, and generally spends her downtime exploring these interests.
