Rachel Moss is an Associate Attorney at The Attorneys For Freedom Law Firm, where her practice is devoted exclusively to representing individuals involved in self-defense incidents. Since being admitted to the Arizona Bar in 2022, Rachel has dedicated her career to criminal defense, representing clients in misdemeanor and felony cases throughout the United States. Today, she focuses exclusively on defending responsible citizens who have been forced to protect themselves or others.
Rachel understands self-defense cases require more than a traditional criminal defense strategy. They demand a thorough understanding of constitutional rights, the lawful use of force, and the unique circumstances that lead ordinary people to face extraordinary legal challenges. She is committed to providing every client with thoughtful counsel, meticulous preparation, and unwavering advocacy throughout every stage of the legal process.
Rachel's passion for defending individual liberty developed long before she became a practicing attorney. While attending law school at Arizona State University's Sandra Day O'Connor College of Law, she interned with the Cato Institute's Project for Criminal Justice, where she gained firsthand insight into criminal justice reform, constitutional rights, and the importance of protecting individual freedoms. That experience strengthened her commitment to criminal defense and ultimately led her to The Attorneys For Freedom Law Firm.
Rachel first joined Attorneys For Freedom in 2020 as a Law Clerk, assisting the firm's attorneys with criminal defense and post-conviction relief matters. Working alongside experienced trial attorneys provided invaluable courtroom exposure and practical experience before she returned to the firm as a licensed attorney in 2022.
Rachel earned her Juris Doctor from Arizona State University's Sandra Day O'Connor College of Law in 2021. During law school, she received the CALI Excellence for the Future Award for Litigation Experience, was one of only ten graduates inducted into the prestigious Order of Barristers for excellence in courtroom advocacy, and received the Janet S. Mueller Oral Advocacy Award, presented annually to a single graduating student for exceptional achievement in trial advocacy. She was also recognized for her commitment to pro bono service, served as Executive Articles Editor of the Arizona State Sports and Entertainment Law Journal, and competed as a member of the ASU Mock Trial Team.
Prior to law school, Rachel graduated with Latin honors from the James Madison University Honors College, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies with a concentration in Advocacy Studies. She also completed minors in Spanish, Political Communication, Sports Communication, and Honors Interdisciplinary Studies. Throughout her undergraduate career, Rachel consistently earned Dean's List and President's List honors, was recognized as Political Communication Student of the Year, and presented scholarly research at multiple academic conferences. A semester studying abroad in Spain further strengthened her Spanish language skills and broadened her perspective.
Rachel is proud to be part of a law firm dedicated exclusively to defending individuals who exercise their right to self-defense. She is passionate about protecting constitutional liberties and helping clients navigate some of the most difficult moments of their lives with confidence and skilled legal representation.
Outside the office, Rachel enjoys hiking, spending time with family, boxing, and volunteering with her church and charitable organizations.
