Ahmed Islam

Ahmed Shafiq is a founding partner of DiPiero Shafiq, PLLC and a former prosecutor who built his career in the courtroom. Before entering private practice, Ahmed served as an Assistant State's Attorney in Chicago, where he prosecuted a high volume of criminal cases ranging from misdemeanors to serious felonies. He was in court every day, examining witnesses, arguing motions, and trying cases.

Ahmed now applies that prosecutorial discipline to the business and civil arena. His practice focuses on contract drafting, review, and negotiation, business litigation, and personal injury matters. His years of experience have taught him exactly how agreements break down in practice: the vague clause a contractor points to when they walk off a job, the indemnification provision that shifts liability to the wrong party, or the handshake deal that leaves a business owner with no legal recourse.
