I paid thousands and thousands of dollars for this attorney on an hourly rate. I told him to please not waste anytime on plea deals as I would not plea in my case. To which he apparently spent all his time on. I was very careful to not call him for stupid details, and to maximize relaying info to him... at my hearings. I would always walk him to his car to give him important details since he was already on the clock. In the end he appeared at 2 hearing and logged over 30 hours. I became very nervous when he was not aware of very simple facts about my case. Knowing that at max he could of only spent 6 hours on my case and figuring I needed to switch attorney I asked for an accounting of all hours spent on my case. Amazingly all of a sudden more than 30 hours logged (this was impossible) and in a threatening manor at my next hearing he demanded I sign a release which I did, because there was no way I would risk 12.5 years with this man as my attorney. He needs disbarred.

Costly.... He led me down a merry little path that cost thousands of dollars, with no resolution. I ended up hiring another attorney at 1/4 what I had paid Mr. Stewart. He took my case and was able to resolve things efficiently and honestly. I believe that Mr. Stewart was more interested in running u...p billing hours than truly solving the case. When I asked for a statement of his hours and charges, his hours "spent" on my case amazingly ate up all the thousands of dollars in retainer money that I had paid him in advance... and he claimed he owed me nothing. I was in no state of mind to fight him at the time. He took advantage of me when I was down. I do not hate him, but I would never recommend him to anybody. I only give him a decent review for "responsive" because I felt that he would return my calls only for the purpose of keeping me in contact with him so that he could get more money.
