Hugo Ortega

Hugo Ortega is a personal injury attorney at Sweet James Accident Attorneys and a battle-tested advocate with more than a decade of courtroom experience and hundreds of trials across prosecution and private practice. He is admitted to practice in Arizona.

Hugo earned his Juris Doctor from Arizona State University’s Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law, where he served on the Executive Moot Court Board, received a CALI Award in Jury Selection, and distinguished himself in Trial Advocacy. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Religious Studies from Arizona State University. Before joining Sweet James, he served as a Deputy County Attorney for Yavapai County prosecuting serious felony cases and as a prosecutor for the cities of Glendale and Scottsdale, and has also practiced in estate planning, criminal law, and family law.
