James Lawrence Williams

James L. Williams is a director and shareholder of the law firm of Schmitt Schneck Casey Even & Williams, P.C.  He focuses his practice in the areas of litigation, business law, products liability litigation, and dispute resolution.

EDUCATION

James earned his Juris Doctor Degree from Baylor University in 2008. While at Baylor, he was a member of the National Championship 2007 AAJ Mock Trial Team, the 2008 AAJ Mock Trial Team, and the Order of the Barristers. He earned second place in Baylor’s "Top Gun" Trial Advocacy competition and was named a Top 10 Speaker in Baylor’s 2006 Intramural Moot Court Competition. James received the Abner McCall Evidence Award as well as the Fraley and Fraley Mock Trial Award. He served as Vice President of the Federalist Society for Baylor Law School. James graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Texas at Arlington in 1999 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in History and was a member of the Alpha Chi National Honor Society.

PERSONAL INTERESTS / COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT

James and his wife, Julia, have been married since 2004 and have two children. James is an accomplished musician and photographer. For more than ten years, he has served as a worship leader and musician for church youth, college, and young adult retreats. He has also produced and performed on numerous albums and in countless live shows. James was a professional photographer before obtaining his law degree, and his images have been featured in widespread publications and galleries. James is also active in his church.
