Eric William Schmidt

It has been an utter nightmare trying to work with Eric Schmidt. If you complain, Eric Schmidt WILL attack your personal character. I first met with paralegal, Alvaro Vasquez, who I found to be highly personable and professional, so I signed with the firm. I thought the firm only took 30% of the ...settlement as payment, as most attorneys do.. Mr Schmidt took 45%. Meaning he took almost 1/2 of all the funds before paying the bills. Sadly, I made huge mistake not meeting Eric Schmidt in person prior to signing with the firm. When I originally came to discuss my case, I thought I would be meeting with Mr. Schmidt. I was wrong. Al Vasquez basically stated Mr. Schmidt stepped out of the office, and wasn’t available. I wish I would have seen that as a red flag, yet with hindsight I see my error. The next time I called the Schmidt Law Group, I was told Alvaro Vasquez no longer worked for the firm, and spoke with Eloisa Garcia. Eloisa had me running all over town collecting all my medical records and bills. She told me it would be much quicker and save Mr. Schmidt money which would lower the costs in settlement. With hindsight I realized this was totally unprofessional of Schmidt Law Group to do. It wasn’t my responsibility to do the work of a paralegal. I don’t remember how much time passed, yet soon after submitting my medical bills and records, Eloisa stopped answering the phone. No one else returned my phone calls or emails. Months went by with no communications. I started leaving telephone messages weekly, along with emails. Then suddenly, one day when I called someone answered, and then every time I called the law group there was someone new answering the phone. If anyone did answer the phone messages either didn’t get to Mr. Schmidt, or he chose not to return my calls. I really just wanted to get an update on the status of my case and became concerned when no one answered the phone. It also became obvious Mr. Schmidt appeared not to be able to keep any of his staff. Some of the paralegals working for Mr. Schmidt were extremely rude, and unprofessional. Most had no idea who I was or what my case was about. I believe it took about two years before I actually spoke directly with Mr. Schmidt. Often Mr. Schmidt was often rude and abrupt with me. When I tried to complain Mr. Schmidt attacked my character as a person. My case took four years to settle. I’ve dealt with the legal system (civil cases) in the past. Never did I experience anything like this. It’s been a totally nightmare. I’m only writing this up to prevent anyone else from experiencing a similar situation. There are so many other attorneys in Arizona, if you’re searching for an attorney you might be better served elsewhere. I personally believe all clients should be heard, and be treated with dignity and respect. This wasn’t my experience with the Eric Schmidt.
