Ruthann James

Ruthann James, a Partner Attorney with Phillips Law Group, has spent her career representing plaintiffs in injury and negligence cases. She was born and raised in New Jersey and earned her undergraduate degree in Literature and Communications from Pace University in Pleasantville, New York. She stayed at Pace for law school, receiving her J.D. from Pace University School of Law in White Plains. Ruthann moved to the Phoenix area in 1993 and was admitted to the State Bar of Arizona that same year. In 1994, she joined Goldberg & Osborne, where she focused on plaintiff personal injury, wrongful death, and negligence law, and later served as Managing Attorney until 2006. After leaving the firm, Ruthann opened her own practice and continued representing clients in personal injury, wrongful death, and general civil litigation matters. She joined Phillips Law Group on June 1, 2009, and remains dedicated to helping people seek accountability and fair compensation after preventable harm. Ruthann is licensed in Arizona, New York, and New Jersey, and is admitted to practice before the Arizona Supreme Court and the U.S. District Court in Arizona. She is a member of the Arizona State Bar, the Maricopa County Bar Association, and the Arizona Trial Lawyers Association. In 2016, she was named a “10 Best” Female Attorney for client satisfaction by the American Institute of Personal Injury Attorneys.
