Douglas A. Dallmann

Doug Dallmann brings an engineer's instincts and a seasoned attorney's judgment to every client engagement. Before entering law, he designed circuits at Motorola Semiconductor and Intel, giving him firsthand knowledge of the technologies he now protects. That technical foundation, combined with years of practice at a leading IP firm in Portland, Oregon, means he understands complex inventions from the ground up rather than learning them secondhand.
His time back at Intel as an in-house patent portfolio manager gave Doug a perspective that few outside counsel can offer. Managing vast portfolios across software, networking, and data center technologies, he coordinated hundreds of patent filings annually and advised senior leadership on how to build and preserve portfolio value. Today, as a co-founder and principal at Alliance IP, he applies that same strategic mindset to clients ranging from solo inventors to large technology companies, with particular depth in artificial intelligence, machine learning, semiconductors, and medical devices.
Outside of work, Doug has summited both Denali and Kilimanjaro, spent months on the Pacific Crest Trail, and traveled to more than 30 countries. He is active in colorectal cancer advocacy, having survived the disease himself, and serves on the boards of several related nonprofits. A proud Wisconsin native and lifelong Badgers fan, Doug brings both global experience and genuine Midwestern approachability to every client relationship.
