Over the years he has served on a variety of Boards and Commissions dedicated to serving and improving the community. He is the immediate past Chair of the Board of Directors of National Council of La Raza, the largest Hispanic civil rights and advocacy organization in the United States. He also serves on the Board of Directors of the Cesar Chavez Foundation and the Los Abogados Hispanic Bar Association.
