Michael Branum

Sadly this attorney didn’t even file anything in my defense on my case. When I hired a new attorney he is the one that let me know this. He would not give my case file over until I finally called and asked them to send it over. He would text me to ask what my plans were and then never text me the fin...al decision. He charged me a retainer fee and then added another 1300$ for doing absolutely nothing on my case. I definitely would not use him in a custody case.

If I could give Michael Branum 10 stars I would. My wife and I came to his firm with a very complicated case which involved obscure case law and very little case history. We had previously tried to represent ourselves in our own case and the judge had ruled against us. Our case involved reques...ting the State of Utah to affirm our marriage of almost 20 years which was performed outside the United States (we were residents of Utah at the time). The recognition of our marriage of almost 20 years was very important to us because we were trying to adopt 3 children at the time and laws of our current state mandate that adoptive parents must be legally married. The stakes were very high in our case. We were also in a difficult financial position which left us with few options. Michael met with us for a low consulting fee and gave us his honest opinion that he wanted to research a little before confirming he was able to represent us. This surprised us because we thought most lawyers just made promises and tried to get as many clients as possible. Michael carefully researched our situation and got back with us soon after he completed it. He told us he was confident he could represent us and present an excellent case to the judge. We were also very surprised with his retainer fee which was very affordable and reasonable! Hope was restored! Michael filed a motion for the judge to review our case once more. It is highly uncommon for a judge to be willing to take a second look at a case which they have already struck down. However, Michael's carefully researched and complied paperwork persuaded the judge to re-examine the case. We were overjoyed when Michael wrote to tell us that the judge had ruled in our favor and provided us with the court ordered recognition of our marriage. He included a touching personal note which stated how happy he was for our family. How can I overstate how much this has meant to my wife and I.
