Arrogant and unprofessional

This man will try to leave you penniless and be vindictive as possible. A simple divorce he will drag out. Use excuses such as his wife having a medical treatment to push dates back. He brings everything to trial regardless of how simple and civil you may want to be. He knows that he will get 15k plu...s for every trial so why not drag it out and line his pocket. He will lie on documents and try to sway the emotions of the court. When you dig into his past he has been a basketball coach who "unwillingly" resigned from his position, another word's he is a perv. When ever he's in court he is very arrogant in his approach and dispectful to the court. How is this man still walking on his own will is beyond me. If you hire him or have to deal with him just know he will drag it out agree to nothing and try to pinch every penny you have. Just understand he's a crook and should not be allowed to continuing to practice law.

Your better off representing yourself!!!

Doug Neeley is the attorney from a very small county and all I ever heard was how good he was. come to find out he is the worst Divorce attorney I could've hired! He only showed up the 1 time after I paid 15k to tell the judge he wanted to withdrawal from my case on court day, and I never received ...any of my money back because of false hours charged. Come to find out when you tell people that Neeley is your attorney they laugh. And say "I hope your planning on losing everything." He doesn't answer calls or even read your case, he showed up not knowing anything about your case . Which I disregarded at the time and I hand to represent myself in the end. I can promise you its better hiring anybody but him!

Be ready for it to take years

The quick review on my experience with Doug: charismatic, friendly, good-listener and confident we could win what we were asking for (which was minimal); YEARS of spurring for action to no avail, unanswered/unreturned phone calls and emails, times of friendly conversation, other times of unwarranted... irascible outbursts at me when I tried to pin him down, telling me he would finish the case for just one more deposit, inaccurate bookkeeping on contacts made, and no end to the dispute. It is still an open case in court after 9 years. To be fair, he is a brilliant lawyer and good in the courtroom; he has an amazing memory, but his preparation does not measure up. Believe me, he is charismatic when you first talk to him, but plan on that being the best conversation you have. More details: I hired Doug to help me settle a property divorce dispute because I heard he was great and was a bulldog in court. Within a few months we ended up going to court the first time where Doug recommended and won his motion to set the divorce decree aside and redivide everything due to both parties having a material misunderstanding of values. Even though he hadn't conferred with me at all until the morning of the day in court, I felt it ended up so far so good. I did my part to find the values and submitted them to Doug. Here is when it turned out to be a terrible experience. It drug on for months, then years between Doug not following through with petitions and orders to show cause to hold my ex accountable to do what the court had mandated-- find the values of the property and offer a fair division. The long story...very long story... short is that if any communication was take place or any action taken, I had to call his office. I called about once a month from 2007 to 2014, not a misprint...7 years. After the judge had actually reprimanded the attorneys for the open case, there was some word from Doug. We finally got another day in court, but after waiting for 7 years, I still did not get to confer with Doug. On the phone the day before I tried to talk to him about options we had , but he blew up at me, yelled the f word at me and told me to get another lawyer. The day before court and after 7 years! I got him to settle down, but I still didn't get to confer with him until 30 minutes before we went into the courtroom. When the found out that my ex had still not done his part to retrieve his information, the judge conferred in his chambers with the attorneys . We heard some pretty loud voices as we waited for the judge to come out and hear the case. About 20 minutes later, Doug came out and said that the judge said there is no point to have a hearing since my ex had not brought in the values. The judge gave the ex 30 days to get his list. That day Doug and I conferred again briefly after that for about 15 minutes. He had the nerve to tell me about a lame offer from my ex that was practically nothing and even urged me to accept it, saying even if we win, we can't make him pay without redoing a court order for garnishment of wages every 6 months. Why hadn't he told me that 7 years ago? It is now 2016 and nearly 2 years since that day in court. I have not heard from Doug nor the court. I gave up on it. After 7 years of futile dogged effort just to get hold of Doug and try to keep anything moving on the case, I just gave up. Maybe in another year the judge will dredge up open cases and bring Doug in, but I guarantee he will do nothing until then. He will call me and ask for just one more payment of a few thousand to finish. I'm done. After thousands of dollars acting on his initial advice that we could win without question, I realize, he was the winner. No one else.

Best Lawyer on the Planet!

I heard about Doug from my friends. They told me if I want to win, I have to hire Doug. I called other lawyers first and found out that Doug had the best price. I paid his reasonable retainer and met with him right away. My papers were ready within 24 hours. When my ex found out who I hired, he ...was mad as hell. He said that he was going to get screwed. We ended up settling within a couple months and I am very happy with the outcome. My ex knows that he needs to stay current on his child support or Doug will take him back to court. So far, so good. I would highly recommend Doug. I read the haters reviews. They clearly must of been on the losing side. Doug and his staff have always been the best on the planet!! Thank you for giving me my life back!

Unprofessional please stay away

STAY AWAY! This has to be the worst lawyer in town. My ex wife and I are going through a simple divorce that we both agreed on specific terms. We received stipulations about the divorce that we needed to put what we wanted and sign them with a notary. Once we sent those papers back to the lawyer we t...hen received completely different documents then what we wanted. We emailed the lawyer multiple times explaining this. The lawyer emailed us back and asked to hand write our documents with what we wanted! We complained to the lawyers office that if they can't fix the documents that we would find another lawyer. Their response was basically, "ok." We started this basic divorce in December and it's now the mid February. With this lawyer you can be sure that he has to many cases to properly handle your case. That it will be drawn out mean while asking for more money. That you'll never reach your lawyer but will speak with multiple ladies working there.
