I have been practicing law since 2005. I hold a law degree and a master's degree in computer science. I am a member of the Utah bar, the California bar, and am also a licensed patent attorney and hold a real estate license. I run a technology business on the side of my law practice. I speak several languages and have many interests.
I am not the sort of lawyer who became a lawyer because I like to pick fights. In fact, I didn't become interested in law until I realized that lawyers are meant to be problem-solvers. That is what appealed to me, and to this day, what I enjoy most about being a lawyer is taking people who have gotten into bad, scary, or confusing situations, giving them clear explanations and helping them choose their next steps wisely. I don't mind the arguing and fighting either, so long as it helps solve problems.
Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.
