Biography
I’m Nate Sumbot, founder and principal of Scalar Law, PLLC. I serve as fractional general counsel and transaction counsel to startups and growth-stage companies, advising on corporate governance, commercial contracts, corporate finance, capital raising, and mergers and acquisitions.
My work is designed for leadership teams that need practical, senior-level legal judgment without building a full-time in-house legal function. Before founding Scalar, I served as General Counsel at Lumio, Chief Legal Officer at Ei.Ventures, and Deputy General Counsel in the Office of the Utah Governor. I also practiced at Ballard Spahr LLP and Jones Waldo Holbrook & McDonough.
I earned my J.D. from BYU Law in 2014 and my B.A. in English from Brigham Young University in 2011. I’m admitted to practice in Utah.
