My previous company was a rapidly growing Software as a Service (SaaS) company and had presence in multiple states. At the time we had contacted Spencer and his team, the company's total revenue since inception exceeded $100 million, so the potential exposure was immense. Spencer and his team perform...ed research on each of the jurisdictions in which we had presence and educated us on whether each jurisdiction would consider our product to be taxable or non-taxable. In the approximately 15 jurisdictions in which our product would be deemed taxable, Spencer and his team were able to get voluntary disclosure agreements ("VDA") in place. Spencer was even able to get a VDA in place in the State of Washington, despite the fact that they had previously reached out to our business on multiple occasions to inform us of a potential audit. I highly recommend Spencer Evans as a tax attorney that has been effective working with the IRS on my tax issues. I had trust fund payments and civil penalties that I had been trying to take care of on my own since 2009 with no resolution.
