It would have been worth the extra mo...ney to pay for a more aggressive firm or lawyer that would have actually listened to and worked for me and fought for my best interest with things like evaluating my paperwork and actually looking for opportunities that the other attorney would be targeting me for, especially when I was very clear that I had a greedy spouse and what his arguments would be. It would have been helpful if he would have brought a laptop into mediation to be able to look up house values as opposed to accepting the value of my house from 6 years ago. An example of being out of touch and fighting for what was reasonable and evaluating my paperwork. He was eager to take my money and tell me that what my spouse wanted was too much. But because my spouses’attorney did evaluate every docuement of my financials and didn’t hesitate to go after everything even remotely possible, my spouse ended up with exactly what my attorney said was 'too much' and more.
