I posted a question on divorce - what responsibility was who's and I was looking for an attorney . David respond back in less than 24 hrs. His thoughts and advice were explained well and you can actually hear the nice demeanor in what he said. My last words to David were, " Do you do Family C...ourt / Divorce; and do you practice in NYS. David unfortunately does not practice in NYS but perhaps ...he can rethink that answer and open another practice in NYS near me- I would work for David !

David Hartwig is not the best value if you want to get a divorce done with low costs. He does providing limited guidance but lots of emails and calls (each charged even when leaving a message) and refused to set dates to have phone conferences. When asked to separate the divorce form property settle...ment he refused. He was very abrupt and demeaning in communications both written and voice. In our case it cost us over $40K for a year of divorce action that resulted in us not being further along with the divorce but a lot less financially stable - watch out for his interest as he collects funds and then charges interest prior to deducting the payment. In our case he loss track of 4 payments. A new lawyer got it done in 2 months for a fraction of the cost. Get everything in writing as his favorite phase is "I have no recollection of that"!
