About me

Matthew L. Anderson has built a commercial litigation practice focused on real property, secured lending and corporate disputes, representing clients in transactions, negotiations and litigation. Matt negotiates for clients in leasing disputes and secured lending agreements on behalf of both creditors with defaulting borrowers and debtors in need of restructuring. When insolvency becomes an issue, Matt is experienced in representing creditors in bankruptcy proceedings. In handling complex cases, Matt is able to draw upon the expertise of other Fabian attorneys skilled in the firm’s core competency areas. Matt additionally works for real estate clients in cases involving easements, title, foreclosure, landlord/tenant, liens foreclosure and construction. Prior to practicing law, Matt worked as Area Director on Mike Leavitt’s campaign for Governor of Utah and then as Director of Constituent Affairs for the Governor’s Office. He has stayed involved in the political realm by assisting clients in their relations with the state legislature and is on the planning commission for his city. Matt is active in the Utah State Bar, currently chairing the Member Benefits Committee and as past chair of the Real Estate Section. He graduated with honors from the University of Utah and earned his law degree at Columbia, where he was a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar. After law school, he clerked for the Utah Supreme Court.
