My mother wanted to help me by hiring an attorney to help me get a protective order against my abusive manipulative high conflict ex, after I had to call the cops to help me leave him and was told to go get a protection order. He was recommended to us because of his fair prices, but I do believe he ...did not have training in helping with domestic or family cases. He didn't help me gather all the evidence that was necessary like I had asked, he didn't say much in the court room, the ad litem child advocate seemed more helpful when talking to the judge, he seemed to be in more defense of the respondant. He was even trying to convince me to not start a custody case, to save my daughter from the poor conditions and poor treatment that the father was making us live with. He had 0 recognition of the way I had been reacting because of the trauma and abuse that we had endured from the father and 0 recognition of the narcissistic ways the father had been acting, and still giving him the benefit of the doubt. He even took the official protection order papers and told me he was going to send a copy to the father and this should have been the end of the job, that I was told he did not finish before termination of the service. He might be good for his specialties which is tax and business, but he did not help me with this domestic case and getting an official protection order.
