Biography
Mr. Johnson is an associate in the firm’s litigation section focusing on patent, trademark, unfair competition, and breach of contract litigation. He has litigated cases involving a wide variety of technologies, including wireless systems, exercise and sports equipment, fuel additives, ready-to-assemble and patio furniture, human resource management software, nutraceuticals, medical devices, and the payment card industry. Licensed to practice in Utah, Mr. Johnson has experience litigating cases in multiple venues, including the Southern District of California, the Southern District of Texas, and the District of Utah. He has also represented clients in front of the Trademark Trial and Appeals Board in opposition and cancellation proceedings and is admitted to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
Mr. Johnson received his B.S. in Civil Engineering from the University of Utah in 2007. He received his J.D. with high honors from the University of Utah S.J. Quinney College of Law where he was a William H. Leary scholar and a Quinney Fellow. During law school Mr. Johnson earned the CALI award for the highest grade in his property law class, was a teaching assistant in the Legal Writing Program, won the best brief in the local moot court competition, and competed on the National Moot Court team.
Mr. Johnson currently serves on the firm’s recruiting committee, supervises and coaches the S.J. Quinney College of Law’s Giles Rich I.P. moot court team, and enjoys coaching his boys in soccer.
