This is the second time I have had the pleasure of Nick representing me. This time was on my divorce case. Nick was responsive, caring, personable, humorous, and extremely knowledgeable! I was thankful to have him on my side and certainly felt heard. Nick was able to think outside of the box and ac...commodate my unique situation, we consulted numerous professionals because the other party lived 1,500 miles away and our small child had not seen him in years. If I ever have a friend who is in need of an attorney, I will take them straight to Nick Gottwald's office in a heartbeat! Here's some of my experiences and reasoning: 1) I really appreciated Nick's understanding of the law and what judges and Guardian Ad Litems would be looking at and valuing. This really helped us weed out a lot of small things and stay focused on the big picture of our case. Also, he was able to provide important advice, experience, knowledge, and connection to the decision makers in court. I think that Nick's best quality is his ability to be level-headed, and invested but not emotional, throughout everything that goes on in divorce and custody cases. Many times when I would get upset or emotional, Nick was able to help me see the big picture and talk me through what is important and what we can control or do to help the situation. 3) I kind of expected my attorney to kind of disappear as my case took years, and especially with COVID-19 delaying everything. But instead, he stayed on top of my case, checked in on court stuff on his own time and then reached out to me to keep me in the loop. He was very consistent and constant with his presence in my case. I never felt like he was annoyed with my questions or my contacting him. I also never felt like he was taking other cases that were more important than mine. He made me feel like my case was his only case - which obviously is not what happened as most attorneys have a heavy case load. It means a lot to me though that he never seemed busy with something else. His attention seemed to be fully on my case and nothing else during all conversations and time together. That really says a lot about his focus and work ethic. 4) Nick Gottwald has a great morale, and was honest in his dealings with me and the court. One telling thing about him is that if he doesn't know something, he'll tell you that and he will do the research to figure it out. Nick was very sensitive to what I had gone through when we needed to talk through a lot of hard experiences for court purposes. 5) As for the fees, I am so grateful for his honesty in how much things would be costing as we went through different parts of my case. Many times when we came to a crossroads he would lay out the options but also make me aware of how much each option would cost. He would also give me a heads up about upcoming costs like filing fees and court fees, giving me a ball park estimate that was very accurate. He was fair and consistent with the way he billed phone calls and responding to emails. I never felt like he was charging for more that what was necessary. I also never felt like he was talking to me just to talk to me in order to add another hour onto the bill. Everything we talked about was important and to the point. 6) After exploring Legal Aid and other attorneys, I found that Nick provided confidence to my case (even though outcomes aren't guaranteed) his confidence was like, we can try this and there are options. The other ones I tried working with kind of gave a narrow-minded, one-way approach and they cost significantly more per hour. So I think Nick's service had an good cost paired with amazing quality. Consider getting Nick for your case. I really doubt you will regret it!

I found Nick on Thumbtack and I am so glad I contacted him. I heard back almost instantly! He was quick to schedule a phone consultation and was patient and informative during the call. He answered all of my questions with brutal honesty while being sympathetic and acknowledging the pain I was feelin...g! Reached out to Nick for some support for my divorce. My case was a bit more complex than the average with it being across state lines. I got back from deployment to find my wife took the kids across state lines. Due to the nature of the case Nick was very knowledgeable. After calling three other lawy...ers before him, I was still lost in the sauce as what to do. Nick was approachable and while he was busy we were able to set up a time within 24 hours of initial contact and talk about hat options I had and what would be the best case for my situation. By far he was the most knowledgeable and what he didn’t know he was able to find quickly and effectively.
