I have been an attorney since 1993. I help my clients pursue their personal and business goals. I find satisfaction in helping clients navigate some of the biggest challenges of their lives.
I focus my practice on business law, real estate matters, consumer debt (including debt settlement and bankruptcy), and foreclosure solutions (including loan modification).
I take a limited number of cases, so that I can provide the highest level of service to each client. I believe that I must get to know you to be able to help you. Over the past 20 years, I have represented interests as diverse as Native American tribes in water litigation to cattle ranchers and grocery stores in personal injury and real estate disputes. In bankruptcy court, I have personally represented individuals and businesses in over 750 cases.
As a business lawyer, I understand that entrepreneurs and business owners face a myriad of legal issues in starting, running, building, and eventually selling their businesses. As your business law attorney, I can assist you with everything, from entity selection and formation to ongoing entity governance, regulatory compliance, negotiating and documenting transactions, and litigation.
I am different from many other attorneys in that I bring "real-world" business experience to my law practice. I am active with several boards, nonprofits, and small businesses. I have been part of several business start-ups and have been active in real estate finance and development for over 15 years.
As a business owner, I have some great successes and a few failures. My personal experience in business has taught me to respect my small business clients for the risks they face and tough decisions they make.
I then earned my law degree at The University of California, Hastings College of Law, in San Francisco, California. Earlier, I earned my bachelor's degree in economics from the University of Utah.
