Cannot and will not recommend.
Rushed through very complex cases with a paralegal, who was condescending. Within 5 mins, after bragging about 40 years of experience, the case was simply 'too complex'. wouldn't even provide a referral to someone competent. In my experience, they're out for easy money, quick settlements, and...
We understand that being turned away by a law firm can be disappointing, and we appreciate the opportunity to clarify a few important points. As with other professionals, such as doctors in non-emergency situations, attorneys are not obligated to accept every case presented to them. Responsible case selection is critical. Each matter we consider requires a significant investment of time, energy, and often thousands of dollars in advanced costs. We do not decline cases casually; in fact, our firm succeeds by accepting cases that are not only legally sound and viable but also those in which we believe we can make a meaningful difference. In your situation, our experienced paralegal listened to your account attentively for over 20 minutes before consulting with the firm’s senior attorney. After a thorough review and discussion, we concluded that the two matters you presented - one involving a former doctor and the other a prior attorney - did not present a sufficiently strong legal basis under Utah law. Even assuming all the facts you shared were accurate, there were, in our opinion, multiple red flags, and the potential damages involved were not significant enough to justify the legal and financial risks of pursuing your cases. Ultimately, we determined they were not economically feasible to take on. Accordingly, we respectfully declined representation and encouraged you to seek a second opinion, either through the Utah State Bar’s referral service or by researching attorneys who specifically handle both legal and medical malpractice claims. Regrettably, we did not know of another firm that we could confidently refer you to for these particular matters. Our firm regularly accepts and litigates complex and challenging cases. We take pride in the results we achieve and the relationships we build with clients, as reflected in the many positive reviews from those we’ve actually represented. However, every reputable law firm must exercise careful judgment when deciding which cases to accept. Declining to take on a case is not a reflection on you personally; it simply means we did not believe we were the right fit for the matter at hand. We sincerely wish you the best in finding the legal support you need.
