Matthew B Hutchinson

Matt and his family have made Park City their home since 2003. Matt’s law practice covers a wide range of business and real estate transactions and disputes, and frequently involves issues touching upon Park City and Summit County planning, zoning, and related land use issues. Matt’s pre-legal career in business development and semiconductor sales in San Francisco contributed to Matt’s focus on his clients’ bottom line, a perspective that has proven beneficial to clients over the years.

Matt and his team provide a broad range of legal services to his business clients. Among other things, Matt is experienced in negotiating and drafting the terms of leases, LLCs, corporate and partnership agreements, employment agreements, loan documents, and security instruments.

Matt frequently advises purchasers of commercial and residential income properties with regard to due diligence and transactional matters, including advice on applicable land use regulations, zoning, project feasibility, and entitlement requirements for single and multi-family and commercial projects.

With his broad-based litigation background, Matt is well-positioned to provide on-point and authoritative advice to clients in transactions and business disputes of virtually all types.

Matt currently serves as legal counsel to the Park City Board of Realtors® Forms Committee a. This representation has contributed to Matt’s in-depth familiarity with the form agreements used by real estate agents across Utah in residential transactions.

In 2016, Matt received a certification from the Utah Division of Real Estate to teach continuing education for real estate agents and brokers. Matt has also taught continuing legal education seminars for lawyers in the areas of real estate transactions and real estate financing. He has been recognized by his peers as a member of Utah Business’s Legal Elite. He is a co-founder and board member of the Chier Foundation, a scholarship fund for the Sudanese “Lost Boys” of Utah. He has also served as the President of the Board of Trustees for Mountain Town Music and as a member of the Board of Trustees of the Park City Film Series. Over the years, Matt has also provided pro bono legal services to Habitat for Humanity of Summit and Wasatch Counties, the Park City Education Foundation, the Park City Snowboard Team, Team Park City United, and many other Park City-based non-profit organizations.
