Since passing the Utah bar in 2010, I have practiced primarily education law and family law, with a little business law as well. I currently practice education law in the role of in-house counsel for a charter school education service provider, a role I have been in since 2016. Previous to this position, I did family law and commercial litigation at a firm in Salt Lake City and was an attorney at the Univeristy of Utah Office of General Counsel. In addition to my current in-house counsel position, when time allows I handle family law cases and provide legal services to a number of business clients.

He always kept in contact with us either via email or phone, from start to finish. I always felt like we knew what was going on, and...

Effective, caring, and responsive
I worked with a number of other lawyers who all promised to deliver, but fell short of their promises. After these negative experiences I was delighted to have worked with Platte Nielson who demonstrated in every way what an effective and caring family law attorney should be like. He took the time to...
"I would highly recommend Platte Nielson as your attorney. He is a smart, hard working lawyer who cares deeply for his clients. I have referred many clients to Platte. Those clients have always had great experiences with him."
