NOT for high-conflict divorce cases

I retained this attorney to help me navigate a high conflict divorce case. Unfortunately, my experience was disappointing. Communication often felt dismissive, and when serious concerns arose that I believed required urgent attention, I did not feel supported or adequately represented. Rather than f...eeling like I had an advocate helping me address the issues at hand, I felt as though my concerns were minimized. I brought forward concerns that I believed involved violations of our divorce decree, interference with my relationship with my child, and issues affecting my child's well-being. Whether those concerns ultimately proved valid was for the court and appropriate professionals to determine. My expectation was that my attorney would help me address those concerns through the proper legal channels. Instead, I felt discouraged from pursuing them. What was most frustrating was that when the case became more challenging and I needed guidance the most, the attorney moved to withdraw from representation. While attorneys certainly have the right to withdraw under appropriate circumstances, the timing left me feeling abandoned during a critical point in my case. I understand that every legal matter has two sides, and this review reflects only my personal experience. However, if you are looking for an attorney who will remain actively engaged during high-conflict family law disputes, find a different attorney.

Disappointing Experience and Very Little Progress

I rarely leave negative reviews, but after my experience, I feel obligated to share it so others can make an informed decision. I hired Andy Leger for my divorce case and paid nearly **$10,000** over the course of almost a year. Unfortunately, I ultimately had to terminate his services because I ...felt my case had made little to no meaningful progress. Communication was one of my biggest frustrations. Appointments were frequently rescheduled, and I would often go weeks without hearing from him. During one of the most stressful periods of my life, I felt like I was constantly chasing updates instead of having an attorney actively moving my case forward. The quality of the work I received was equally disappointing. On multiple occasions, I was sent drafts that contained numerous grammatical errors, formatting issues, and even sections that appeared to belong to an entirely different case. Instead of simply reviewing the legal content, I found myself proofreading and correcting documents before sending them back. What made this even more frustrating was being billed for the additional time spent revising documents that I felt should have been accurate before they were ever sent to me. Yes, I received itemized invoices. But an itemized bill doesn't automatically mean value was provided. Looking back, I genuinely struggle to understand how nearly $10,000 resulted in so little progress. I hired an attorney to advocate for me, not to create more work for me. It also became apparent that the lack of administrative support affected the quality of the service I received. I often felt like I was acting as his proofreader and assistant instead of his client. There were times I joked that I should have been billing him for my editing services. Divorce is already emotionally and financially exhausting. Your attorney should help reduce that burden, not add to it. Irritatingly, ChatGPT ended up helping me draft clearer, more accurate legal language and organize my decree more effectively than the attorney I paid nearly $10,000 to represent me. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this attorney, particularly if your case requires attention to detail, consistent communication, or proactive representation. I sincerely hope others have a better experience than I did, but I would strongly encourage anyone considering hiring him to ask detailed questions about communication, document review, and case management before making that decision.

What an amazing Attorney!

I had the most wild and unconventional divorce. It involved retrieving my kids from another state, bringing them back home and then a tooth and nail struggle for custody. Andy was there every step of the way. He helped me file for everything I needed to bring the kids home to Utah, he helped me with ...so many crazy issues my ex tried to throw into things to complicate the divorce. He had to go to court over 5 times to plead my case to the commissioner and judge. He was aggressive, articulate and knew exactly how to help them see that the best thing for my children was to have me in thier life as much as possible. He never lost a battle for me. I now have my 4 kids, 5 days a week no alimony or child support! I highly recommend Andy Leger to anyone. He will spend whatever time it takes, meet whoever he needs to, will sit down with anyone and will plead your case better to the judge or commissioner better than anyone out there. Words can’t express how happy I am now a year later with my kids and a new life. Thank you Andy you for saving my family!
