Before you pay do your research!

Summer 2018 we had an ILLEGAL TRESPASS on our 120-year-old property that had been in our family for five generations, when Sandy Young aka VERDIS hired Jeff Woods aka Alamo Excavation, to illegally tear up a 60-foot wide by 3000 sq. ft. long area of our land to put in a road. Ross Kimball aka Kimb...all Logging was hired by Sandy Young to cut down 70 large fir trees in the path of the illegal road. David Callahan, supervisor with Kootenai County planning and zoning department approved the permit for the illegal trespass. WE WERE DEVASTATED! We hired attorney Susan P. Weeks with James, Vernon & Weeks, P.A, in July 2018, to sue Kootenai County, Sandy Young aka VERDIS, Jeff Woods aka Alamo Excavation, Ross Kimball aka Kimball Logging on our behalf as we estimated over two million in damages! Susan Weeks agreed to assist us in litigation and charged us a hefty fee to do so. We asked Susan Weeks to submit an injunction to prevent further damage on our farm. Susan Weeks FAILED to secure an injunction, which resulted in another 30 trees being illegally cut down under Sandy Young aka VERDIS instructions. Susan Weeks FAILED to proceed with a DEFAULT JUDGMENT in our favor when the defendants failed to timely answer our Complaint. Susan Weeks FAILED to name Sandy Young aka VERDIS, Jeff Woods aka Alamo Excavation, and Ross Kimball aka Kimball Logging as Third Party Defendants in order for us to pursue damages against each party individually in our lawsuit. Susan Weeks FAILED to pursue Kootenai County planning and zoning department as we had discussed in our first discussion. We later discovered she had a conflict of interest with said party. Susan Weeks FAILED to secure any experts to testify on our behalf pursuant the pretrial ORDER, which was detrimental to our quest for damages at TRIAL. Susan Weeks FAILED to finish discovery pursuant the pretrial ORDER. When we questioned Susan Weeks about her obvious blunders…she quit just prior to TRIAL leaving us in a horrible state of mind with devastating consequences. We won the trespass issue but were DENIED any compensation for damages and ended up losing our sacred driveway as Judge Richard Christensen DECIDED that it should become an easement for anyone needing access to our land that was never used other than a driveway for us! UNBELIEVABLE! We still have 10 large slash piles left behind that neither VERDIS or KIMBALL LOGGING cleaned up! The Idaho Department of Lands ignored our request to have Ross Kimball (a mandate for all logging operators) clean up the slash piles he illegally deposited on our land, while Ross Kimball went to Hawaii when he cashed in on our logs (trees) he sold to the Chilco Mill. David Callahan refused to enforce the part of the permit he gave VERDIS that stated Sandy Young must comply with said permit by removing the huge illegal road she built by replanting and removing all gravel, etc. Susan Weeks stole our money and did nothing to help us! Susan Weeks cannot be trusted to litigate on your behalf.

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
