We all love to hear that title objection when coming from Perry Mason's rival the District Attorney, Hamilton Burger. But, when it comes to real life attorneys, and we get the one who is incompetent, irrelevant and immaterial, it changes the entire narrative of our case. Caleb Durrence is just such a...n attorney (And, I use that term loosely) and he destroyed any case I had against the defendants who damaged the walls of my home, causing me to be unable to sell it. There are just too many things he has done to negate my case, so I will only list a few. He lies: claims he charges $1 - $150 per hour, when he has billed me at $200 per hour. He claims he has worked on my case so many hours, but much of it is doing paralegal work that demands a less hourly rate (Such as $85 per hour). He does not communicate: Many months went by without a word - then I contact him by phone and he does not return my calls. So, I go in to his office and he tells me he is serving court papers on the defendant's - six months go by with me calling again and again, but he still has not served the papers. He hands me off to other attorneys in his office - they don't return calls either and are always unavailable if I go in the office. He "Cooks the Books": When he finally told me the Defendants were requesting a dismissal on my unsound case (He is the one that told me I had a sound case), I agreed to it, because he had so badly botched the case. However, he sent me a final bill that had no charges itemized, so that I knew what I was paying for, so I requested an itemized statement. Several months later, I get an itemized bill that come from two separate accounts (One of which I never authorized) wherein he is moving my retainer money ($1500) back and forth and creating another account with higher charges. I thought only embezzlers did that kind of stuff! The problem here is that I specifically told him when he was retained to contact me whenever the retainer was near being used up, so that I could decide if the case was worth my investing any more money into. Not only did he fail to notify me of the retainer, but he continued to rack up charges without my permission. He is a procrastinator, he comes from Concordia University of Law that went belly up in 2020 and he has only been an attorney for over a year. He is not a man of his word and cannot be trusted. I was referred to Quentin Lackey by the Idaho State Bar Association and he passed me off to Mr. Durrence. Based upon my experience and the negative experiences of other clients, I would advise all those in need of an attorney to bypass the LTM Law group.
