Stephen Sennett’s practice focuses on employment law matters as well as business law, civil litigation, and real estate.
Stephen enjoys working closely with his clients and learning about their specific business operations and needs to ensure legal compliance with the applicable (and regularly changing) federal, state, and local employment laws. Stephen takes a proactive approach with the goal of eliminating issues before they arise. This includes drafting employee handbooks and policies, conducting employee training and investigations, and keeping clients informed on changes in the laws that affect their business. Should an issue come up --- such as an allegation of harassment or discrimination, agency complaint and investigation, wage and hour issues, etc. --- he guides his clients through the resolution process and also defends employers against alleged employment law violations (EEOC/local agency complaints, OSHA/state agency investigations, State and Federal law claims, etc.). Stephen is licensed in Idaho and Washington (including the Eastern District of Washington).
Prior to joining Gravis Law, Stephen worked as a trial attorney at the Law Firm of Keller W. Allen, P.C. --- a highly rated boutique employment law firm in Spokane, Washington. Stephen joined Gravis Law in 2019 and led the firm’s Human Resources department as the Chief Human Resources Officer. Stephen resumed a full-time client practice in 2022 although he continues to serve as the firm’s Deputy Assistant General Counsel.
Outside of the office, Stephen enjoys upland hunting with his Pudelpointer (out of Cedarwood Kennel in Boise, Idaho), fly fishing, and golf. Stephen provides pro bono legal services and volunteer work to sporting and conservation groups (Quail Unlimited, Trout Unlimited, Backcountry Hunters & Anglers, etc.).
