Ydanis Rodriguez was a candidate for City Council, 10th District. His main opponent, incumbent council member Miguel Martinez, was convicted of various felonies in connection with public office. Mart ... inez attempted to have his name substituted on the ballot for former Council member Guillermo Linares. We sued, asserting various defects in Martinez's Committee to fill Vacancies. The Board of Elections ruled that the Committee was indeed defective and that Linares could not replace Martinez on the ballot. Ydanis Rodriguez went on to win the election and is not the Tenth District's new Council member. Prior results do not guarantee a similar outcome.
