He seems very wishy washy

I called them and Matt answered and was all over the Map with this conversation. First not saying he does estates then that he does, then said it’s a family business called Big Spruce which I’m looking for but have seen no reviews yet but hope to leave when I find them. My issue is a trust I needed... to find a successor for and Matt asked me where it was and said we can’t help you because we have a lot of lawyers there. I asked him what he meant and he said they have a lot of clients at that trust company I assume thinking I’m ignorant and don’t know that this not only in no way is a conflict of interest but proves there is no conflict of interest to take the case as they have other clients there. I have no litigation nor requests from the trust company, I just need a judge to appoint a successor . He seemed very weak and wishy washy and I know often lawyers are fearful of other lawyers or companies and I wish he’d have just said that if that’s the issue, rather than lie and say they can’t take the case because they have other clients there. If that’s were the case then they’d only have one client there. I dont believe a word he says and it’s odd I can’t find reviews for them . It’s usual for busy lawyers to be unable to take a case but for someone who literally answered the phone himself he doesn’t seem very busy and I think he’s just afraid of the more experienced lawyers and is too timid to take a case he needs to go to court for l ‘Or he can just be scared in general of the company, I don’t know he just sounded like he was afraid. I did record the call and relistened and it makes no sense to insinuate they can’t take it because they have other clients there if they actually do which I don’t know is true or not.

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
