Clayton Miles Melinkovich

I was born in Rock Springs, Wyoming and have been a long-time resident of Laramie. I grew up outside of Pinedale, Wyoming before moving to Laramie where I have lived since 1990 with short periods in Riverton, Wyoming; Eagle River, Alaska (where I graduated from Chugiak High School); and Murray, Utah.

I studied at the University of Wyoming and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice in 2007 and a Juris Doctorate in 2010. I worked my way through college building custom log homes and driving a fuel truck on the Jonah Oil Field in Sublette County, Wyoming. Throughout my time at the University of Wyoming, I was a resident advisor at White Hall, worked as a marketing intern for the University of Wyoming Athletic Department, and served as ASUW senator at large.

At the University of Wyoming College of Law, I served as the first year representative, president and vice-president of the Potter Law Club.

Following my graduation from law school, I worked as staff attorney for the Wyoming Coalition of Domestic violence and Sexual Assault, a federally funded non-profit organization that provides legal services to low-income victims of domestic violence, sexual assault and stalking. I joined Brown & Hiser LLC in August of 2012 and continued my domestic practice and expanded into criminal defense, corporate restructuring and establishment, general civil litigation, and trust and estate planning and litigation. In December 2014 I left private practice and began working at the University of Wyoming Foundation as the Associated Director of Planned Giving where I work with Wyoming alumni and friends to further the mission of the University of Wyoming and its College of Law.

I am married to Jeri Melinkovich, a Nevada native and a three-time graduate of the University of Wyoming. Jeri, also an attorney, who specializes in health care compliance for WinHealth, a Wyoming insurance company. We have two daughters.
