Jason Alan Matzen

Raised in Wyoming, Jason Matzen brings both local perspective and statewide courtroom experience to a wide-ranging legal practice. He concentrates on serious felony defense and civil litigation, and he also assists clients with administrative law, business formation and litigation, and major injury matters. He serves clients across Wyoming, including Laramie, Cheyenne, Rawlins, Casper, and Gillette. Jason is a trial lawyer at heart, he prepares every file with the expectation it may be presented to a jury, and he is comfortable litigating complex, high-pressure cases. He recently secured an acquittal on an attempted second-degree murder charge, underscoring his ability to handle the most serious criminal allegations. In court, Jason leads the strategy, conducts key cross-examinations, and delivers closing arguments, stepping into trial whenever necessary. At the same time, he runs a practical and strategic practice focused on early evaluation, smart pretrial negotiations, and realistic settlement planning when agreement best serves the client. Outside the office, he enjoys hunting, backpacking, skiing, and spending time with his family.
