Cheryl Thompson is a trial lawyer with over 25 years' experience, admitted to practice in both Colorado and Florida. She has successfully tried approximately 50 civil and criminal cases and argued dozens of appeals. She received her Juris Doctor degree with High Honors from the University of Florida Law School in 1984 and a Bachelor of Arts in English with High Honors from the University of Florida in 1981. She was inducted to Phi Beta Kappa and Order of the Coif, and served as Senior Executive Editor of the Law Review. After a two-year clerkship with a federal trial judge, she practiced commercial litigation at a large law firm in Miami, Florida. She thereafter began a career as a federal prosecutor, specializing in white collar crime, initially at the United States Attorney's Office in Miami, and later at the United States Attorney's Office in Chicago, Illinois. Cheryl has been practicing general civil litigation in Summit and Eagle Counties, Colorado, since 2007.
Her areas of practice today include all types of civil, commercial and criminal litigation in state and federal courts; appellate practice; business and contract law; construction law; bankruptcy litigation, and employment law.
Cheryl loves living in the Colorado mountains, and also travels quite a bit with her husband who is a commercial airline pilot. She enjoys trail running, hiking, downhill and cross-country skiing, and scuba diving.
