Bill helps people plan to preserve and pass along their assets to their families and the charities they support. This planning involves lifetime gifting and sales of property, planning for the possibility of disability, and transfer of property at death. Bill also provides representation in administering the estate of a decedent to navigate the  maze of tax issues and the legal requirements for the handling of an estate or trust after death. As part of the succession planning for businesses, Bill assists in the implementation of lifetime gifting programs and assists with the structure of business entities for the transfer to the next generation. Bill was a member of the moot court team at Rutgers, and he won several awards in the areas of estate planning, taxation, and bankruptcy.

Bill represensts clients before the IRS in connection with audits and appeals and provides advice to clients on other tax issues, including tax-deferred exchanges, the structure of asset and business sales and purchases, and trust administration. He has filed for tax exemption status for numerous charities in the Grand Valley and helps charities maintain their tax exempt status.

In conjunction with the tax practice, Bill has handled dozens of conservation easements and has been active in the drafting of the easements and representation of donors before the IRS and the Colorado Department of Revenue.

The amenities of living in Western Colorado that Bill likes are the people and the annual, internationally known JUCO baseball tournaments. Bill is a regular teacher of an adult class at River of Alliance Church.
