Drew began his legal career defending liability claims against individuals, businesses and professionals on behalf of insurance companies in a broad range of civil litigation from automobile collisions to hospital negligence and medical malpractice actions. In the early 1990’s, Drew changed course and begin representing the individuals and their families who have suffered serious injury or death as a result of the negligent, careless or reckless actions of others. His first-hand knowledge of claims handling by insurance companies and their counsel has proven to be a significant asset in obtaining recoveries for the people he represents. His success is due in large part to limiting the number of cases taken so that each client receives the time and effort required to be fully informed and secure as full a recovery as the law will allow.
Drew has been an active participant in his legal and non-legal communities. He maintains membership in the El Paso County and Colorado Bar Associations, the Colorado Trial Lawyers Association, the American Association of Justice and the Medical Malpractice Trial Lawyers Association. He holds an AV Preeminent peer review rating in Martindale-Hubbell, signifying that he has attained the highest level of professional standards and ethical ability. Drew has volunteered and served as a member and president on several local non-profit boards and foundations. He is a past president of the Ben Wendelken Inn of Court, the El Paso County Bar Foundation and the Resource Exchange. He recently joined the board of the Independence Center and is certified as a peer mentor for the Peer and Family Support program instituted by the Christopher and Dana Reeve Foundation and mentors others with spinal cord injuries in a variety of settings.
