Pathetic Representation

I hired Joyce K. Sanchez to represent me in a spousal maintenance matter (motion to modify separation agreement). In the initial consult, she stated I was already doing the right thing in my original agreement and gave me this emotional "your a stand up guy" sales pitch that she could defend my case... in a short time at a quoted price. Far from the truth! Some facts to consider: 1) She approached my case with emotionally charged comments about how I was doing the right thing when she really should have approached it from an as objective stand point as possible and told me what to expect from mediation and what could have potentially happened if it would have ended up in court. 2) We went to mediation twice with no results. You didn’t have a plan whatsoever during both mediations nor did you "represent" me during mediation. On the contrary, the mediator threw out a suggestion and then I figured out quickly how mediation worked, and I ran with it (myself)! I had to correct you numerous times during mediation because you didn’t have the facts of my case straight. She even had the gall to charge me extra during the second mediation for her time spent waiting for my x-spouse's lawyer showing up late! 3) She charged me $6500 (way over her initial consult estimate of $1500-1800) for a bunch of administrative court paperwork, nothing more! f I would have received professional objective representation, the cost would have been justifiable but I didn’t get that at all. All I received for her $6500 price tag was emotional rant, useless court document preparation at the rate of $250 an hour and her drinking coffee and chatting with the mediation office staff! Unfortunately for me, it was a costly $6500 learning experience on what not to look for in a "lawyer"!!! And oh by the way, I closed the deal myself after I terminated her representation because my x-spouse's lawyer was just as bad.
