Non-profit Setup

Jeff did an amazing job working with us to get our local non-profit started. He was very knowledgeable on the required business licenses and procedures. The information he didn't know off hand he was able to find very quickly. He was very responsive and timely with all my phone calls. He even was... able to provide us some local contacts to help grow the non-profit, definitely went above and beyond his attorney services. It was a pleasure working with Jeff. He made the dry topic of business license and fees more enjoyable and was able to take care of everything very quickly.

Very poor planning & organization - scarey

Received documents that were populated with another client's information. Am discovering this attorney has no planning/organizational skills. Since I had to pay up front for his services, I'm now stuck having to try and push for a planning document showing bankruptcy related events & dates things are... due from Jeff and things that I need to do. I'm also asking for worse-case scenarios since one of the issues that came up was my 2nd mortgage company wanting a release of stay from the bankruptcy so they could go ahead and sell my house. I read and was told at the beginning that this would NOT occur - that once the bankruptcy was filed, all legal action stopped. NOT SO. So now I want that list of worst-case scenarios so that counter actions can be considered/planned for, if necessary. Since I'm not a lawyer and I've never filed banruptcy, I only know what I've read in the NOLO books on this subject. But shouldn't an attorney who's done this or the senior attornies in the office know what can go wrong and what steps need to be followed? Oh... and communication is very poor. I've gotten emails from this attorney at 10pm regarding actions that needing to be taken care of that day. I don't have internet so I don't get these emails until the next day. (this is just another example of poor planning on the attorney's part - both not sending emails to me sooner and... waiting until the last hour to get legal actions done) Ugh!!!
