I grew up in South Dakota amid the wind and the cold, where most of my family still resides. I eventually got sick of the snow after graduating with two majors in Sociology and Criminal Justice from the Universtiy of Sioux Falls in Sioux Falls South Dakota and moved to Phoenix Arizona to go to law school. I graduated from Arizona Summit Law School in May of 2014 and passed the Uniform Bar Exam in October of 2014. I have been licensed in Arizona since January of 2015 and am in the process of transfering my license into Colorado. I decided to move to Colorado when I decided I should pursue a Masters of Law (LL.M.) in taxation at the University of Devner Sturm College of Law. I obtained my LL.M. in August of 2015. I currently work at a tax resolution firm in Brighton Colorado and currently reside in Aurora Colorado.
I sort of fell into the area of tax law in law school because I thought I was interested in Estate Planning. The Estate Planning part did not hold my interest for very long, but I realized I was really good at a lot of areas of taxation and fell in love with the subject as a whole. I know "Tax Attorney" sort of conjures pictures of geeks and nerds, but I also enjoy being outdoors with my wife and my yellow lab. I also played baseball on the varsity squad in college so I will be a life long baseball fan, and I follow the Atlanta Braves religiously. My career is relatively new, but I'm already becoming very skilled the areas of tax resolution and international taxation. I enjoy the greater Denver area every day and I cannot wait to see where my career takes me next.
