Ryan S. Markus

Where do I start! Ryan Markus goes above and beyond for every client he has. He is well known in the courts and has good relationships with the judges and DA’s. I’m a young full time college student and got caught up in some stuff to the point where I had 10-11 open cases ranging from felony burglary..., felony assault on a peace officer, a couple probation revocations and so on. When I contacted Mr. Markus he explained all the possible outcomes, good and bad but told me he will do everything he can to help me and my situation. Every time there was an update in my case or anything, Mr. Markus would call me immediately to notify me of what’s going on. When it came time for sentencing in those cases, the DA was pushing really hard for 3 years DOC and the judge was leaning towards that too but after hearing the defense argument that Mr. Markus gave, the judge told me that he was giving me probation and to thank my lawyer because he, “made a lot of persuasive arguments” Judge Jourad’s exact words. Thanks to Ryan I can keep working on my college degree instead of having to postpone my whole life for 3 years. Ryan Markus also has a lot of connections with private investigators and case workers so if your case needs anything like that, Ryan knows exactly who to bring on board. Not only is Ryan a great lawyer but he’s a great friend too, I can never repay him for everything he did.

I had Ryan as a Public Defender in my cases. He worked very hard to get me the best outcome and get me placed into a community corrections program. But his hard work is not what stands out to me this day. Ryan was and still is a great listener from the moment he came to talk to me in the county jail ...to this very day. He is compassionate about what he does and believes in the clients that he serves. He worked with the DA to get me the best possible sentence that would enrich my life and help me to start rebuilding my life again. He hasn't been my lawyer for almost 2 years now, instead he is my close friend, confidante and like a brother to me now. I have so much love, respect, and admiration for this man. Without him my life wouldn't be on the path that it is now. A good lawyer isn't just about what they can do in a courtroom! A good lawyer is one who listens to their clients, helps their client and communicates with their clients through the whole process. A good lawyer is also someone who supports and encourages their clients long after the judicial process is completed. Ryan isn't a good lawyer he is an amazing lawyer who went above and beyond for me through the judicial process. Now he is an amazing man that I have the privilege of calling my friend and who has consistently been there to support and encourage me on this new path I've found in my life. Thank you Ryan for being who you are, and for believing in and supporting me over these past few years. I can't express my appreciation to you enough. I sincerely thank you my friend and brother.

Ryan was very proactive on my case and despite having a public defender's case load made sure to communicate with me the same day or the very next at the latest. Beyond that he was incredibly compassionate and encouraging through the entire process. Definitely a valuable asset to the public defenders... office.
