At age 63, I was fired by my former employer after working for the company for 24 years, supporting my termination with completely untrue allegations. I got the opportunity to tell my side of the story and present proof that my employer had intentionally wrongly accused me of jeopardizing my patients' safety and of failing to perform my duties as an RN. The appointed officer of the court sent me her decision by mail a few days later, in which she reversed the initial decision. Consequently, I began to receive unemployment insurance payments shortly thereafter. Since I had never been fired before, I had no idea what to expect before and at the hearing.
